Children's Corner

Tails

A lion has a tail, a fine one too

An elephant has a tail, a short one too

and so does a rhinoceros

A giraffe, a lion, elephant and rhinoceros

all have tails but me

I went to a tailor

I told him to make me a tail

he told me sorry

I don’t make tails but I make clothes

And so they all have tails but not me.

Kennedy Ndende

Give me

Give me a little sugar

For my little milk

In a small glass

That’s all I need

Give me a little salt

For my little food

In a small plate

That’s all I need

Give me a little butter

To spread on my little bread

In a small plate

That’s all I need

Give me a little water

For my little flower bed

In a small jug

That’s all I need

Values

Where there is faith

there is love

Where there is love

there is peace

Where there is peace

there is truth

Where there is truth

there is Bliss

Where there is bliss

there is God.

The Singing Bird

One early morning

I say a bird singing

Singing on a tree

“Your father is coming

Your mother is coming

Run and be free”

But father was working

Working in the yard

And mother was writing

Writing to a friend

The bird was lying

I knew it wasn’t true

I shouted to the bird

“Go, Go you lying Bird”

But the bird sung even louder

“Go, go you little child

I wasn’t lying to you

I was just joking”

Letter of appreciation from a Guardian

When Dean Richard joined the other boys at Sathya Sai School – Kisaju. I did not know for sure that he would be able to cope with a new environment away from home as he had lost his mother, three months earlier before he joined the school.

As I brought Dean to Sathya Sai School – Kisaju, I thought of God’s wonders and graces and surely, did the other boys deserve all this opportunity in their lives.

The boys I met in January, 2003 when I brought Dean, were welcoming and the staff were understanding, looked so responsible in their lives.

After three months, in school, I collected Dean for holidays and what I saw in him was a changed boy, full of responsibilities, upcoming, was able to value all those around him, appreciate and was contended with all.

At home he would take care of the compound, keep it clean water the flowers and plant his own flowers as a farm as taught in school and all the other boys would do as he would say.

I have peace within me that the boys are in safe hands, protected by God’s grace. The school is an oasis of love, unity and has moral moulding for the future. In later years, focusing ahead for the boys, Sathya Sai will be the school of the future.

My desire is to see the boys of Sathya Sai School grow to be responsible people in the community and offer what they get.

As a parent, and guardian, I know that in the years to come, Sathya Sai School will be a school with a difference and I wish it my blessings and also extend my best wishes to the founder of the institution.

Mrs. Priscilla Macharia Wangilu.

Remarks by Area Assistant Chief, Mr. Moses Siminkor on Founder Day, 2002

I really thank God for blessing us with such a beautiful school. The school was built at a time when there was a serious drought in the Maasai-land.

If not for the school the cattle we owned during that time could have perished. The school salvaged out cattle and this has really impressed me very much.

Even though I do not reside in the school, I can say it has contributed very much in terms of changing the behaviours of the pupils and more so the day scholars, who previously were in different schools and their behaviour was not good. With the human values learnt and practiced the pupils have really improved in behaviour.

Parents have been very positive with the school and they always urge me as the Chief to make frequent visits to the school and see the progress.

In academics, I can say that the school's academic achievement over the few years has been very encourraging. My son has really showed alot of improvement since he joined the school in 2001.

The people within the area really appreciate how the school is helping them with water both for the cows and their domestic use.

I therefore emphersize that the school is of an overwhelming importance and I pray that the school may continue to exist and we as a community are ready to give all the necessary support.
